Postdoctoral Positions in Dr. Jeffrey Skolnick's Research Group

Postdoctoral applications are sought in Computational Systems Biology to work with Professor Jeffrey Skolnick in the Center for the Study of Systems Biology at the Georgia Institute of Technology. Available projects include the development and application of novel algorithms to predict protein structure and function on a proteomic scale. In the field of protein structure prediction, projects include the development of algorithms to refine protein structures using models at atomic detail, the prediction of the tertiary structure of multidomain proteins, the prediction of protein-protein interactions and protein quaternary structure, the development of approaches to model DNA-protein and RNA protein interactions, the development and application of small molecule ligand screening algorithms and the development of many scale approaches to simulate macromolecular assemblies.

Highly creative and innovative individuals are sought with the following qualifications:

  • Strong background in computational biology, biophysics, physics, computational
  • Extensive experience in developing computer code in languages such as Fortran, C, C++, Perl
  • Previous experience doing international quality research in structural modeling, bioinformatics, computational genomics would be a major advantage
  • A track record of publications in high quality international journals.
