Bioinformatics Postdoctoral Position
Postdoctoral applications are sought in Bioinformatics to work with Professor Jeffrey Skolnick. Available projects include the development and application of novel algorithms to predict protein structure and function on a genomic scale. Specific areas include:
- Structure prediction of GPCRs followed by virtual ligand screening
- Prediction of protein-protein and protein-DNA interactions
- Proteome scale virtual ligand screening
- Development of algorithms to minimize drug side effects
- Development of multiscale modeling approaches for the simulation of virtual cells
Highly creative and outstanding individuals are sought with the following qualifications:
- Extensive experience in developing computer code in languages such as Fortran, C, C++, Perl.
- Previous experience doing international quality research in structural modeling, virtual ligand screening, bioinformatics, or computational genomics would be major advantages
- A track record of publication in high quality international journals.
- Ability to work in a team, yet think independently.

Cancer Oriented Postdoctoral Position
Postdoctoral applications are sought to work with Professor Jeffrey Skolnick. Specific areas include the Molecular and Cell Biology of Cancer with an emphasis on Cancer Metabolomics, large-scale biological simulations and the automated assignment of proteins to biological pathways using novel algorithms and the integration and systematization of high-throughput data into regulatory, signalling, metabolic and interaction networks.
Highly creative individuals are sought with the following qualifications:
- Very strong background in Cell Biology, Cancer Biology, Molecular Biology or Biochemistry.
- Interest in large-scale analysis and integration of biodata to understand specific biological processes.
- Extensive experience in developing computer code in languages such as C++, Perl or Phyton.
- Previous experience doing international quality research in Biomedical Informatics, Bioinformatics or Computational Genomics applied to concrete biological problems, as evidenced by a track record of publication in high quality international journals.

Bioinformatics Technician
Assists research staff in the integration, management and analysis of biological data, with a focus on the development, updating and maintenance of internal and public databases dealing with genome, transcriptome, proteome and metabolome annotation results generated in silico.
- Requires a BS, MS, or PhD in Bioinformatics or Computer Science.
- Verifiable experience in web development and database design.
- Experience in scripting languages, preferably in a Unix/Linux environment.
- Familiarity with the use of biological databases.
- Demonstrated written and verbal communication
