Dr. Bader has been a pioneer the field of high-performance computing for problems in bioinformatics and computational genomics. He has published extensively in this area, co-chaired a series of meetings, the IEEE International Workshop on High-Performance Computational Biology (HiCOMB), written several book chapters, and co-edited special issues of the Journal of Parallel and Distributed Computing (JPDC) and IEEE Transactions on Parallel and Distributed Systems on high-performance computational biology. His main areas of research are in parallel algorithms, combinatorial optimization, and computational biology and genomics. This is an exciting time for research in high-performance computing and solving the emerging computational problems in molecular biology and genomics. His research seeks to contribute to the area of high-performance computational biology, and address new problems in areas such as in gene identification and function, protein-protein interactions, and analysis of pathways and regulatory networks.
